Megasquirt Group Buy Units

Recommended Posts

As I am now the nervous owner of a MS1 v3PCB unit from the group buy I thought I had better do some reading up.

First stumbling point was what is the unit I have actually configured for ? It came with a VB921 which I thought needed to be installed for direct coil driving but on opening the unit it already has one installed and no free positions. Also looking at the Megamanual I was unable to work out what else the unit has been enabled / disabled for ? Anyone able to help ?

Also anyone got a map for a std1.9 8v looking to run EDIS or direct coil drive wasted spark ?

cheers

Steve

To run coil packs you need two coil drivers (vb921s), one which is already fitted and the extra one. The extra one has to be mounted on the case..

I expect you have:

http://www.msextra.com/manuals/MS_Extra_Ig....htm#singlecoil

Where as you want to run (if you want to run coil packs):

http://www.msextra.com/manuals/MS_Extra_Ig...anual.htm#2coil

As your running the coil drivers on a MS1 you need the MS-Extra code:

http://www.msextra.com/manuals/MS_Extra_Manual_Index.htm

This is my guess as I dont know exactly what you have in front you!

I have the Dr Seuss made unit. I have a similar setup to the first link with 1 coil driver. If I don't install the 2nd driver then I can't directly drive 1 coil pack ? Can I use EDIS as it stands at the moment.

Would a photo of the PCB help ?

cheers

The EDIS page is on the msextra site.

I think you should just sell it to me and buy some carbs :)
