Radster 0 Posted April 23, 2007 The only thing im not sure about is what ECU I have! I bought the whole lot, AFM, ECU and loom off ebay and it had apparently come from a 405 Mi16, however when we got it there was quite a bit of 8v stuff spliced into it? Needless to say the car starts, idles and runs just fine, we did an emissions test and that was all ok also, the problem I have is that when I plug the ICV in with what I assume is the correct plug the revs hunt all over the job, Im also not 100% sure which connection is for the knock sensor The end code on the ECU is 162 which after searching through the forum seems to come back as a 205 16v cat? Could this be right? The only thing I know at the moment is it runs fine and pulls well (upto 4k obviously) with no untoward noises or anything like that and all the guages appear to be working correctly. pug_ham 242 3 Cars Posted April 24, 2007 What colour & how many pins are on the plug you've been trying to plug into the icv? Although plug colour isn't a certainty there should be two pins iirc & if you have a mulitmeter you can check if the loom is right or not at the ecu plug between one of these pins. Pin 4 on the ecu plug should ring out with one of them but if the loom is also from the 8v cat it won't have had an ICV. Graham. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Mikey G 3 Posted April 24, 2007 In This Thread i posted a list from my computer in my chip files that sugests there was a 16v 205 with this ECU. I also have the number 1267355643 which is listed in the BX19 ECU If you can take the top off the ECU and take a look at the number on the eprom, if it matches the number on the 8v one i may be able to send you a standard file for the so called 16v version if you want to give it a try, and if you know someone local who can reprogram your eprom. Radster 0 Posted April 24, 2007 The loom has a brown multiplug thing on it so its definately partially 8v Im not sure whether any of it is 16v stuff, I assume some of it is, could be two looms spliced into one but im beginning to think it isnt even that, I guess ill have to cut my losses and buy another lot, least I can sell this as people may want Motronic. I just acquired it I know there was never one made but it has appeared from somewhere, it is in my list of chip tuning files i have from most cars upto around 1997. Even though the ECU ends in 162 the chip itself has a different code to the 2 8v units also listed with this ECU sugesting it is mapped for another engine.
