Bit of hammerite and it'll be good as new.

Can you paint it over rust that has a bit of metal on it? :D

Purchased a new target for the Multivan top:

1993, rust free, just a few dents, 175 euros :D

it's a diesel again, but the engine will be replaced by a quicker engine soon.

Hilgie you are officially nuts! But I'm loving your style :)

How come you fitted GTi wings?

Thanks Dino!! The GTi wings have been fitted to accomodate the Rallye arches. The car needs a full respray anyway, so that was an easy mod. It will also feature Phoenix sideskirts, full GTi suspension (all parts are now at the powdercoater) and a difference engine :)

If it would fit, we'd do it...unfortunately it doesn't (90 degree angle).

I'm lovin' that van :) Really want a sleeper Multivan now with something nice under the bonnet (T16 :P )

Hilgie - what is the frame that supports the roof made of? In some of the pictures it looks like it's wood!

I have to say though, that the Multivan has to be one of the most pointless vehicles ever made. I mean the boot is only taller, so unless you are planning on transporting a lot tall cabinets etc it's a bit crap. The 205 boot is pretty convenient for a small hatchback, but for the kind of stuff you'd usually require a van for then this is just not going to do :)

not really, you'll get more in by virtue of the fact that the tailgate doesn't slope, so as you say you can stack things higher. similar concept to the corsa combivan etc.

Plus with extra clearance above it would be easier to manouver (sp?) things in, you should even be able to get in yourself if you crouch to help push/pull items in.

Would make a pretty good chase/service vehicle to compliment a 205 rally car :)

You'd spend as much of your time fixing the service vehicle as you would the one you were meant to be servicing :)
