Ecu Coolant Sensor Hole Blocked?

Recommended Posts

aldo56

i got an engine from a site member a while back, its a 1900 gti btw and i finaly got round to fitting it :D . So im going about wiring it in and find that the sad has been removed and blocked up and the ecu coolant sensor isnt there and has been blocked off with a bolt. :)

im not really bothered about the sad , and was going to get another one in its place but i was wondering if i need to get a coolant sencor?? im guessing yes but you never know! any ideas why someone would do this?

thanks allan

Maybe the engine was being used with carbs beforehand? This would negate the need for a coolant temp sensor and SAD. If you are running standard management then you will need both of these items fitted. :)
