Details On Speedline 2108 Wheels Required

Recommended Posts

i may have a chance to buy a set of these Speedline 2108's:

post-4-1170726643_thumb.jpg

they should be either 6.5x15" or 7x15" - more likely to be the latter ones but i'm not sure

as i couldn't see a stamp on them other than 680 KG something. also, the car has a set

of MOMO 15-20mm wheel spacers on, not sure whether to correct the offset or just to

make the wheels sit further out - they were nearly lined up with the arches on Saxo VTS.

the questions are:

A - what offset are they likely to be and what offset does Saxo VTS normally use?

B - they're a race/rally wheel, but are they actually light (i assume not)?

C - what are they like for brake caliper clearance?

D - and finally, does anyone have pics of 205 with them on?

information required asap so i could make him an offer and eventually them out on my 205.

thanks.

A. Saxo's are the same if not very similar offset to 205's, Et16/18 i think, i've happily had 1.9/Tsw wheels on a saxo when i had one.

B. I have a set in renault fitment 6.5x15", they're not *really* light but are certainly lighter than most, and strong i beleive.

C. Not totally sure on this, but they were miles away from the calipers oin my Clio 16v, std discs are about 270mm iirc.

D. Jay (Puglife) definitely has pics of his with them in white, looked rather good, i'll get some from him, or point him at this thread for you.

HTH!!

yeah i've certainly seen pics of 106's/Saxo's with "our" Speedlines :),

but i was trying to work out why did this one use spacers with 2108's.

are your wheels off the car? if they're off, could you weight them please?

if not, then it's not a problem.

after a quick search i've found his pics:

needs lowering but doesn't look bad :).

i'm wondering if they'd clear Brembo calipers (radius-wise), like SL434's do :).

thanks, it has certainly helped (especially at this time of night!).

No problem at all!!

I know Jay ran Gti 180 283mm discs and calipers with his with no problems at all, if that helps?

Mine are off the car, been trying to sell them, they have tyres on, but i can weigh one for you, -If you see me on MSN tomorrow at all, give me a nudge to remind me and i'll get the bathroom scales out, should give an idea at least! :)

A - I have No Idea

B - I'm sure they feel lighter than my 1.9 rims can check tonight

C - They look pretty good for this. I'm putting some Brembo's on mine not 406 ones though, as a test fit they looked to clear the wheels, If I finish work before Jack Frost comes tonight I'll bolt it on properly and will see. Fingers crossed

D - I will have tonight :)

I had these on mine Nik, but they were 16". Had the Brembo 4 pots with 285mm discs at the time and there was loads of clearance. The way the are shaped internally makes them an ideal wheel for big brakes.

I weighed one of mine, 6.5x15 ET35 with a Uniroyal 195/50/15, weighed in at around 2stone 4, or 32lbs, whatever that equates to!! :)

Not overly light really compared to the bare Speedline i weighed on the same scales at 15lbs.

as a speedline dealer i can give you the inside track.

not light at around 8.3 kg in ET19 (lighter in say ET35). BUT VERY VERY STRONG!

actually used in rallying.
