Wider Front Wheels/tyres.

Recommended Posts

Guest Megster

I like to put some 7 or even 8 inch rims on the front of my 205 sprint car. I know escort cosworth wheels will go on, with off set issues to solve, but are there any 7 or 8 inch rims that'll go straight on (with or without arch mods?) Not at all bothered about aesthetics - only grip and cheapness!!!!!!

Thanks - AJ

You can beat out the arches to cover 8's and run the plastic arch loose at the top, so if the tyre contacts, it'll bend.

Im running 16 x 8's and have a set for sale. ET25 though, require 25mm spacers. All arches need trimming a lot though.

Rippthrough

Weld a strip into some 15" steelies and make up a new centre plate to weld in for the right offset.

Bare in mind that you can only go an inch wider than std for most prod. class regs.

I have 6 old TSW's that are 7x15, not that much bigger but effective and cheap as chips!

Thanks,

I need to check in the MSA Blue Book. I run in Modified Production class in Welsh Sprint and H/C championship. My brother in law runs 8 inch front rims on his Williams Clio, but he is in Rally Car class. I need to check that I'm allowed to do the same. Pretty sure that it's o.k., though...

Thanks again - Alun
