What's This Little Black Box Coming Off The Coilpack.

Hi All,

 

Fist of ,not sure if this is right subforum?

 

Second, whats this? Marked in white block on the pic:

 

Did read, after searching it was a simple ignition noise suppresor, but comment was not definate.

 

Basically looking into a way of having a play with this: http://www.vellemanusa.com/us/enu/product/view/?id=350502

 

I have it fully built ( bought like that:) and the simple manual states:

The "IN" input is connected to the positive of the breaker ( circuit breaker?)This point is easily

found, as it is the only connecting point between the breaker and the coil.The condensor wich is also

connected at that place, may stay as it is.Thus do not remove or disconnect it.As the engine

starts the number of revolutions is displayed.

Is their a connection that could be made at all? or am I going to be looking @ diodes to get it workng.

If so any knowledgable input welcome

I think we'll presume that's what it is then, ta.

 

On the tacho front, seem to have led myself up the garden path , willingly.

Pretty sure thats what it is, I've got one on mine.

 

You're tacho signal is from the ecu om MP3.2, either pin #32 or #43 then you can also get your rev counter working as dfiscussed in this topic.

The penny has just dropped, thank God, petert and Graham- dont worry about the pending PM..apart from

your relay bit of course

 

Im thinking those two green wires are the -ve, but will meter it first.

Will update when I have that circuit built and possibley a working tacho, albeit digital display
