"hot" Camshaft - On A 205gti 1900, What Else Need To Be Chan

Recommended Posts

Guest srack

the car is an 1992 205gti 1900

has a bxgti 1900 engine(and head) on.

now, i've got a chance to have an "hot" camshaft, 286degree, now, what else need to be changed? do i need to change the pully? or something else? or i can just fit it and feel the POWER goes on (im sure i wont get more than 3-4bhp on that), im not going to open the engine soon, so i wonder if something else need to be done inorder to gain some more power. only "must to do" stuff to fit the camshaft.

cheers.

If the duration is that long, you will need to increase compression to get the most out of it, and vernier pulley will only help too.

how high the compression should be?

i've installed to a customer with 106gti a camshaft kit with 276degree, compression was 160per cyl, and car drives very good.

do i have to replace the followers? anything else?

will the car run well? or there will be some ignition problems? i've heard that before

thanks!
