Oil Leak

i guess the cam cover helped to keep the cam seal in place, i thought the seal would be hard pressed in there but seems not too be.. maybe that might be down to it being french ? its a new seal and everything..

 

the new washer ive put in isnt hard pressed to the cam seal so it shouldn't rip apart the cam seal.. i'll keep an eye on it but its better that its there because its a lot more safe than the seal poping out and becoming low on oil

the seal should be a tight fit into the hole, getting it seated by finger is usually quite difficult but a gentle tap from a mallet with a large socket in between does the job.

it doesn't seem that tight but tight enough to keep oil in..

 

like i've said its a new seal and i haven't got the time to go around buying new seals seeing if they're better..

 

imo the whole design of the cylinder head is a crap
