Car Shifts Left Under Power

Recommended Posts

saveloy

On a constant throttle the car tracks true, although it feels a tad loose in the steering.

Under power it pulls left noticeably. The steering needs moving right in order to keep the car straight.

I have changed the nearside top mount bearing and rubber, the wishbone and the gearbox rubber mount. But still it pulls.

The steering seems to have no play whatsoever, so I have ruled that out.

I'm wondering whether the gearbox mounting/battery shelf itself is loose.

Surely if it pulls left the o/s wishbone is the one you want to change?

Well, that was my next port of call. But why?

I have wondered whether the O/S top mount rubber is shot too.

I have never, ever had the car feel like this.

Because the power on pulls the o/s wheel forwards on the wishbone, and then it twists to toe in slightly, hence it pulls left.

Nice, thanks for that. Down to the spares shop then.

It is very strange, because I have felt absolutely nothing like this before. And I have experienced all manner of issues.

There is a first for everything I suppose.

Mate, even ig God himself was sitting on my shoulder, rubbing a rabbit's foot and eating lucky cereal, I'd still end up with the poo stick.

Good fortune does not run solidly in my family.
