To Anyone Who's About To Rebuild Rear Beam...

Recommended Posts

Not an original mistake - searched once I'd spotted it and loads of people have done it - given there's lots of beam talk going on at the moment just though I'd see if I could stop a few other people going down the same route!

When you're putting it back together off the car...

MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE TOP SHOCK ABSORBER NUTS/BOLTS IN THE RIGHT WAY ROUND!

If you don't then once the suspension is back on the car (and probably a year after you made the mistake) you'll realise that there's not enough space to withdraw the bolt and therefore you can't remove the shock absorbers without dropping the whole rear suspension assembly off the car again.

I learned my lesson too late!

Ummmmmm, ok. As I have just bolted the shocks on and will be fitting the beam this coming Saturday, what is the right way round?

push the bolts through as if you are pushing them out towards the sides of the car and you'll be fine mate :)
