Dangerous Brakes

Done a search and from what i have gathered it could either be: -

A siezed caliper (not likely as new ones went on 2 weeks ago)

A siezed drum on the back (more likely as the beam is shot and is being replaced during the week)

Tracking out? (replaced the trackrod ends the other day and quickfit refused to track it as the beam is so shot.

 

Any more suggestions?

 

All advice, as always, greatly appreciated.

It's probably one of your rear drums not working because of something like the self adjuster... etc

Had this just recently, feels like its going to swap ends?

 

Thought the calipers were fine until trying to put some new pads in because it was wearing unevenly, and found out one yoke / guide on the right had ceased completely.. the calipers were new aparently, but the yokes were not / or they ceased anyway. new caliper.. problem solved.

Would check the fronts first, just remove the pads and check the yokes are operating smootly in and out

Knackered wishbone bushes would cause this as well, especially if it seems to pull the otherway under hard acceleration...

 

Easiest way to check if there's some major misbalance on the brakes is to drive along and do a few hard stops, get out and check the amount of heat coming from each wheel - the two fronts should be similar, as should the two rears. If you find significant differences across the same axle, then you need to investigate the reasoning why.

Also check for a leaky front shocker my front left use to lock up under heavy braking due to this.
