Metal Polish

Whats the best metal polish,

 

Cam covers looking tatty and blemished needs bringing back to lift.

Depends on how far you want to take it really? Brasso will do the job, but there are better products(more expensive ) polishing soaps on the market.

 

If you are feeling like a skin flint, try Toothpaste or lemon juice.

I use Autoglym metal polish, think it might be made specially for bikes? but does the job a treat anyhow.

I use allsorts, very fine wet and dry, Autosol, Farecla compounds, cutting and polishing bars with a drill mounted mop, Vienna lime etc. There's some good refinishing kits on Ebay.

I always find the autoglm one to work really well. I have a different one too but i cant remember the name. Both are pastes and i use an old toothbrush to whack the stuff on.

 

Autoglym seams to take the dirt of quicker and stays polished for longer.

Get the surface to be polished thoroughly clean of dirt and grease beforehand with some de-greasant.

 

:wacko: Ok if we are bringin out the bling post-6977-1161104718_thumb.jpg This is what can be acheived with just plain emery cloth and scotchbrite. :excl:
