40s Vs. 45s

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Am trying to locate a set of 45mm side drafts for my 1.9gti

Over here, 40s are in abundance, and I know of a few people running 200hp+ race alfas, datsuns, escorts, blah blah blah, on 40s....

I read that "on anything but a standard engine, 45mm is the only way to go"

Is this true? or would 40s be mint?

cheers for any help

Cam

You could happily use 40's, economy should be quite decent too because they will probably fuel better at cruise.

40's would give you better low down pull.

But will choke the engine if you decide to modify it any futher.

Is 200bhp possible out of a set of 40's?

I thought they would be too restrictive to make that sort of power?
