sure the plans havn't changed? seems to be parked next to an xr3 donor :P

Sandy, your old ti wasn't orange was it? many years ago a friend of mine bought a nice mildly tuned one-and wrote it off on his way home!!!!- before insuring it :( Another mate wrote off a white one several times- once chasing my 120y to Porthtowan ffs)

Can't believe how good the 309 looks with wide arches, either

You rude man! :D That "XR3 donor" is a 240bhp XE powered RWD Mk3, that i'm wiring at the moment! You could do worse :D

My Ti was purple (believe it baby!) and I sold it minus the carbs so was probably scrapped, best thing for it by that time! How the hell did you manage to stay ahead of a Sunbeam in a 120Y? You really must be a driving god!

I've always seen the 309 as a RWD car, it's been eating me for years, that one was the ultimate in its day, to my knowledge the only offically endorsed 309T16 4x4 ever built.

Good point. Up to 250 or so bhp you'd be better off fwd anyway. only rwd owners think it is the nemisis it is not. In reality on track corner entry is the most important area - and guess which is usually better for this? !

Lets be honest if we see 325i's on track in our Pugs we think "easy meat"

I had a E30 325i which was pracrtically standard lowered and filter and exhaust, and round the track there was only 1 205 mi16 that managed to keep up out of around 4 1.9 GTis, they are a very good track car with great handling and performance, i now have 205 mi16 dimma track car but still miss the old RWD,

there was a 205 dimma on ebay a while back with pinto rwd power! pretty well made went for about a grand! the engine could have easily been swapped for an XE which would be nice!

a freind of mine is doing a dimma scooby conversion! makes more sence than the ford running gear as its easyer to get hold of and better in my opinion.

Was just wondering if anyones ever put a f**d cvh engine in a 205... maybe to utilise the sierra RWD ?

it has been done already, you'll have to think of something else now :D.

Just young and stupid at the time, Oh and it was dark and wet, only just saw the avenger estate parked around a corner in time to avoid it- just like the sunbeam DIDN'T :D

I think thats the one that was referred to, it is a 106. Monstrosity. Also have to agree on the choice of engines. :D

Heh i wish mate, that is a mint dimma 309 in holland owned by some lucky guy called johan, id have a dimma but it would mean my spending £6500

This is the most recent pic of my 309 :)

280bhp from a fiesta ??? you sure?? any pics??? also pics of the 1FM would be nice

After going thorugh the papers for the fiesta, i spoke to the guy who built it for advice on varifying the engine setup and how to go about fixing a miner running problem (which ive now done!), engine was built for 265bhp, and last setup last year and on power. huge spec ZVH conversion, low comp lightend and balanced bottom end, stage 2 head with ported manifolds,t34hybrid turbo,-34 actuator, kent cvh35 cam, vernier, lancia intagrale(sp) green alpha weber injectors, cossie fuel pump, ofab management with 3bar map and ahmed live chip, pro alloy intercooler, alloy rad, escort cossie brakes,konis,16s, stainless, blitz turbo timer, forge DV,samcos, baileys breather system(needs attention),probly a few things ive forgoten, goes like stink. was mapped at 280 bhp @ 17psi

http://i10.tinypic.com/2gvloxi.jpg

as you can see it needs a little tidying up, but full dta management is being fitted before i strip it.

now i didnt want to put the 1fm pics up right now, but just becos half of you will think im a c*nt for this... here u go... it was a barn find btw, and despite the large amount of s*ite, the paint doesnt look too damaged at all underneath;) shiney pics to follow;)

and to those who know how to varify a original 1fm, ive varified it

hmmm im thinking a mid engine v6 would be better suited to a 1fm than a ford heap:P no matter what power:P

do you really dare me?!

seriously though, the resoration... ill do my best... i think the winters works cut out... emu and birdy were hiding in the roof of that barn i think!

possibly got a pulsar swap on the cards for the fiesta... opinions please? other then a pulsar powered 4x4 205 would be slower than a mi16 205... i already know that!

If your gona use a CVH motor you better off converting a Mk1/Mk2 XR2 Fiesta using a Escort RS turbo lump with RS turbo fiesta mangment! Stupid Quick, Scooby Killer! Ive had a m8 do it, very quick!

ive agreed a deal with the fiesta (which i agree, was a scooby killer when traction was there, but then most mi16 205s dont struggle too hard with scoobys either). id rather a 4x4 setup ultimatly, so im sacrificing the ford dirty power for a jap 4x4 setup for the project build!

i actually waited in all day for a miami to be delivered... but heard nothing from the owner either... :(

and they had already offered a deal with the 1fm too ;)

at the moment ive really gotta say no... im thinking a gti-R 4x4 1fm would be quite cool :(

yer it would... but id go down on drivers history as 'he who bastardised a 1fm'

which is kind of appealing to:P

It apparently cost £100k to build in 1992/3, god knows what it would cost now!

why use the gti-r setup when its soooo poor as standard???

they are renound for breaking and the work involved would be immense, restore the 1fm and then it will be worth more to someone looking for one..

Get an old shell with abit of rust on it... then 4x4 it.
