Guest Basalt Posted September 25, 2006 can anyone advise me if the 1.9 GTi rear wiper ('89 phase 1.5) is supposed to park automatically. Mine just stops where-ever I happen to turn off the wiper. If they do park (presumably in the region covered by the heated window strips), why would mine be mis-behaving. jackherer 543 Posted September 25, 2006 they are meant to park where you suggested (in the heater strip area on the bottom right). I'm not sure what controls the parking but I suspect its a relay, and IIRC there is one in the tailgate by the wiper motor... If you do need a new motor they are pretty simple to swap over and you'll be able to get a second hand one for £5-£10 I would imagine. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
