Gti6 Oil Pressure Switch

Recommended Posts

jonnie205

Having probs wiring in a gti6 oil pressure switch. The gauge does not seem compatible with the gti6 switch on engine. The last conversion i have done have been on stack dashes which seemed to work fine but have people used the 8v or mi16 switches on the gti6 engines to make oil pressure gauge work? I assume an adaptor is needed to screw gauge into block? this adaptor would also have to replace the oil pressure light sender?

many thanks

Miles

Most gti6's only use a low oil switch and the oil pressure hole is blanked off, use a S16 sender in the hole

I used a Zx16V pressure switch in the hole thats blanked off somewhere near the starter motor.

Not my engine, but yes thats an 8v sensor in the adaptor on a 2.0L T.Not entirely sure the pressure part of the gauge works on that set-up.The other bit is for the light is it not?

Yes the horizontal part is for the light. I dont see why this shouldnt work for the guage though???
