Earth Lead From Top Of Front Shock

Recommended Posts

Guest quantumjohn

I noticed the other day that the drivers side earth lead that connects to the top of the front shock via a blade connector is not attached to anything else. It has a ring connector on the other end.

Can any one tell me what the other end should be bolted to?

Thanks,

John

I think that it's for the brake pad wear sensor?

yup, without that conneector earthed the pad wear sensors wont work, works through the simple principle that when the pads wear down to a certain thickness the contact in the pad touches the disc and creates a circuit to earth via the strut top and the aforementioned lead.

Cheers folks.

So I just need to secure it to a decent earth point and I'll then know when I am about to get a metal to metal sound when I touch the brakes?!
