Wide Arches

Recommended Posts

Hi Paul.I had the standard ones on my old green machine bought

from that seller, but not those extra wide fronts though.

Sam has them aswell, but again not sure if they were the wider type.

Sam.

Speedy does the Euro Rallye arches, those ones up top are copys of Ecosse Antares arches with a wider front.

Even with ET0 on 16x8, the wider arches will look stupid. I sent mine back and got the thinner ones. I got 15x8s now too :)

You're trying to make our cars more and more similar I swear :)

Thin ones aren't wide enough Sam. May need the larger ones to get 9s on at somepoint. Are you back soon? Need to try that manifold for size!

The width of the wheels means jack, it's the track that matters.

I run 8s and run the normal arches and the arches cover the wheels pretty well.

I tested my wide ones last weekend with 15mm spacer (to clear brembos) and SL434's, 6.75x15 wheels.

It looked like the wheels sat 1.5-2cm into the arch, much less than I expected, so I'm pleased with the wide ones on mine.

I'm sure the SL434's have ET15, so with the spacer in place you can compare it to just having a 6.75x15 wheel with ET0.

I find that really weird. I run ET5 and the wider arches just looked silly. I use the standard 205 wishbones and driveshafts but even so!!

If there anything like my old ones they would be pop riveted into place.

Not to sure to be honest, you would need a pop rivet gun.

I guess the expression 'pop' comes from tail of the rivet ( wich is inserted in the gun ) popping off as it the rivet is crushed, incidently i had a bought a cheap gun wich and on a few occasions didn't cut the tail off!

Was a right bitch to file them ends down by hand as there recessed into the arch for filling purposes afterwards, totally dissapointed as i wanted to keep the rivets shiowing for a proper slag look:D

I would say just get a set and make them fit ( not the extra wide ones though ) Just going to take some time and effort that's all.

Arches and St.Tropez went on together mate.

have a practice on someting using rivets before you go on the arches. The body work and arches need small drill holes( obviously the size of the rivet your using) aswell to accept the rivets/tacks.

Best i could find post-6977-1159028764.jpg
