Mi16 Or S16 Engine Codes And Valve Sizes

Recommended Posts

mos

hi,

done a couple of searches but i dont seem to be able to find the answers to a couple of questions

what are the engine codes for

1.9lt mi16 engine

2.0lt mi16 engine

2.0lt s16 engine

where will i find them marked on the blocks?

i am hunting around at the moment for a 2.0lt rather than a 1.9ltr engine to use in my 16v project and i want to make sure i get the one i want!

one more question if you guys dont mind

the inlets valves on the 1.9lt mi16 are34.6mm and the exhausts are 29.6 but what i cant seem to find is confirmation one way or another about the size of the inlet and exhaust valves for the 2.0lt mi16 or s16 i have managed to clock that the gti 6 34.1mm inlet and 30.7mm exhaust from a old post of dave bakers i found from 2004.

thanks

1.9 Mi16 - D6C high compression,

1.9 Mi16 - DFW low compression

probably, the RFT engined cars also had slightly different ABS modulator units.

I've got both an RFY block and RFT although i can't see much difference, but then i'm just an internet mechanic

from a 306 the VIN number will be:

VF37C then either RFY or RFT

it is also marked on the block to the right of the oilfilter with the engine number and either RFT or RFY
