What Plugs On A High Compression Mi

Recommended Posts

James_R

I am running a XU10 blocked UX9 Mi cranked hybrid, with a 1.9Mi head on it. I was out on track at FCS and have spanked the headgasket on it between one and two chambers. There's clear marking on the head and h/g that the engine has been dett'ing, it was fine running it in for th elast 550miles, then died on track which was the first realy time it got hard high revs constant action.

I've got to have the head skimmed again as it's burnt the chamber wall a bit, hopefully it can be tig'd and a very light skim done.

I'm intending to use a thicker h/g this time to reduce the CR somewhat, but would it be a good idea to use plugs of a colder heat range, as the enigne is going to be running in the 11:1+ region (and the head was skimmed before it went on this time too?) I was running the std equim ones for the 1.9 Mi

Thanks for any help/suggestions offered.
