Gti-6 Engine.....

Recommended Posts

nick

A mate of mine has bought a gti-6 engine with no loom or management.

He is wondering if he could use the loom from an Mi16 to run it?

Would all the sensors, such as the tdc and tpc match up?

If not, has anyone got an s-16/gti-6 loom etc.. that he could buy?

Thanks,

Nick

DrSeuss

you might find it difficult to use the mi16 loom due to dizzy drive issues.

Thanks lads, any other issues that he should worry about?

I reckon he should just find the correct loom and be done with it.

I agree with DrSeuss here...the GTi6 lacks the dizzy drive so you can't use the Mi management.

Swapping an inlet cam is also not possible.

I don't see the advantage of driving a modern-esce engine like that with an old management like the MI. Try and find a GTI-6 management. Should drive smoother incl. idle and you could use TBs on it someday :)

I'll ask him, but I doubt it to be honest.
