slider2 0 Posted February 9, 2006 basically im in a position where i can 'raid' a written off 206 gti for parts if i so desire, but my question is are there any bits that would be of use to me? i thought about the brakes but my car has the 1.6 set up so i dont think that would work? apart from doing a tu engine transplant (which i dont want to), can i use anything else? cheers, Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Anthony 1,000 Posted February 10, 2006 Brakes would work if you moved over to base model hubs (these allow you to retain your 1.6 driveshafts), but as you've correctly identified, won't work with 1.6 hubs as the disk offset is wrong. If you can get the parts cheap/free then it might be worth trying to sell on the 206 GTi specific parts (suspension, interior, bodykit etc) to owners of lower spec 206's or eBay it and make yourself a few quid? 206 GTi engine is an EW series (EW10J4 IIRC) not TU btw.
