Anyone Help, A Good Challange

Recommended Posts

Gavtrials

Hey,

My mate rang me other other nite to tell me he had a problem with his vauxhall cav glsi 1.8 sohc on an n plate.

Basicly if he starts it, Its idles fine and everything, can rev it as much as you like to what eva rpm,

As soon as you try to drive the thing it wont go above 1500,It seems the more you put the foot down the slower the thing will go and wont get into any good revs at all,

Not had time to have a look but b4 i do any ideas to what it could be causeing this as it was fine but suddenly did this,

Think theres a lamda sensor on the exhaust if that would casue it as im lost of ideas b4 i can make it over to him.

Thanks, Any help would be awesome.

Does it splutter or drive smooth despite the low revs?

it sort of spluters a little bit,

And really you wont get above 40mph in it.

Me thinking now it mite b the airflow meter.

Allso he rang me today to say there mitght be a differnt engine in there to what he thought, so its all fun and games.
