205 Master Cylinder Info Required Please?

Recommended Posts

macaroni

I bought a master cylinder for my 205 off ebay and only recently opened the box. It seems to have only 3 holes for the brake pipes. As the one on my car definitely has 4, I assume it is wrong, but what does it fit?

I have heard of 2 port and 4 port M/C, but 3?

You've bought a 1.6 GTi MC - that has one line that feeds both rear brakes, hence only having three outputs.

Damn, what a blooming idiot I am.

You don't want a brand new 3 output M/C do you?

Can you not take it back and swap it over?

I only bought and installed a brand new MC in my car about 3 months ago, otherwise I'd have probably bought it if it was going for a good price. Stick it in the For Sale forum and I'm sure someone will have it off you, assuming like Sam says you can't exchange it for a 1.9 item.

You could also use a brake line splitter from the third output to the rear brakes?
