Throttle Body Breather Pipe

Recommended Posts

Mad Professor

Hi All.

Is the Throttle Body Breather Pipe really needed? and if so what is it's use, beside sucking oil fumes back into the engine?

I ask as I am looking at removing the pipe and fitting an IAT sensor in it's place.

thanks for your time.

If your going to keep it you really need to fit a one way valve to it.

Hi, where do you get a one way valve from? Is this the pipe that draws oil into the inlet manifold on hard braking?

you can find one on lots of old cars' engines.

it's a little white/black circular piece of plastic with inlet and outlet pipes:

it should be there to prevent compressed air going into the breather system on boost.

p.s. don't forget mad_professor's engine is turbocharged.
