Where To Buy New Door & Window Seals

Recommended Posts

Mad Professor

Hiya all.

Do you know where is the best place to get new door, and rear side window seals from?

I just phoned my local Peugeot dealer.

Thay wanted £35.00 +VAT per door seal, and £12.00 +VAT Per Rear Side Window Seal.

And he said that i have to cut them to size.

Thanks.

Have a look in the for sale section, Simmy's selling some door seals :)

There must be some other places which sell it on the roll?

Might be worth contacting NEAT Autos, they tend to be able to get most things.

I take it your after new seals, MP?

Otherwise, I could bring some over from one of my cars that are being scrapped, when I come to pick the gearbox up?

have a look at www.frost.co.uk. they do door seals on a roll. don't think you'll have much luck on the rear window front though! you could always try sanding down the rear latch slightly so it pulls against the rubber slightly harder, sealing it again.

hope that helps

p.s. i'm already buying the door seals in the for sale section. sorry mate!

Price from Peugeot sounds like it's gone down dramatically - they used to be over £30 per rear window seal.... :)

I just phoned peugeot and the rear quarter window seal is £42 + VAT.

that's ridiculous for a piece of rubber !!

Where did you manage to get them for £12 per side?

I thought rear side window seals are shaped to fit rather than cut from a roll - last time I checked with peugeot they were crazy money.

It'd be nice if the price has come down - I'll be straight on the phone to order a set!

Problem with the rear quarter window seals is that they shrink over time, rendering second-hand items practically useless. I changed them countless times on my old 205 to stop a water leak, but it never got fixed .

I 'may' bite the bullet and buy new ones although I seem to remember that Simes got them whilst in France hell of a lot cheaper.

I'd just like to confirm that the peugeot dealers are having a laugh at our expense!

Paid £85.42 (inc. VAT) for two rear quarter window seals this very morning! :)

Shocking!!!!

Regards

Ben
