Rear Quarter Window Seals Leak

Recommended Posts

Gohn

It's bin raining here

I've got water in my rear footwells, both sides.

Seems like my rear quater window seals are leaking.

Is this because they've shrunk over time and are too small for the opening now ?

And, is it worth buying a new set from the museum ? has this worked for anyone or do they just leak also ?

Any suggestions ?

Check the rubber hasn't separated from the backing which is what happened mine ,if that is the case they could be bonded back together . I don't think the museum has any seals  for some time now

Mine have been leaking for ages - the rubber just gets tired eventually. Thin nano tape can help temporarily.

I got some from ebay which were rubbish initially, then paid up for the L'Adventure ones.

These are much bigger in cross section (to the extent you might need someone to help push the window closed while the screws are re-engaged), and form a good seal.

Quarter window gasket. 857225 €101.67 each. You need two. they are not handed.

Beware import tax too - Viva La Brexit... and P&P.

I think this is the correct link- the website is rubbish...
