Handbrake still rubbish despite new parts?

Handbrake on my 1.9 is rather pants! Spent some time adjusting mine properly again following the Haynes manual (1.9 disc brakes), cables are brand new, correct length each side, and discs pads and calipers are all brand new. Handbrake mount is also intact, not cracked. 

 

Calipers are new aftermarket NK calipers. 

 

Handbrake comes on fully in 8-10clicks.

 

Can it only be the calipers that are at fault? 
 

or are aftermarket calipers rubbish - if so does anyone have any recommendations for a brand that are known to be decent?

Mines pretty good and its on aftermarket calipers , pads will take a while to bed in if brand new or just pull the handbrake on at low speed for a few stops to wear them a bit and bed them in.
