Remote locking direct fit kit

Has anyone got any experience with this plug in kit?

 

I'm tempted, as it looks a nice solution.

Seems very convenient, you just have to slide the switch if your car is wired the "wrong" way. But looking at the price for a pair of these 433hz remotes on aliexpress or a universal keyless entry kit on ebay this is clearly not cheap.

I know the basic bits to do this are not expensive, but someone has spent some time and effort making it into a nice drop in solution. That is worth paying for is my view.

So I bought this kit and fitted it yesterday.

 

Very easy to fit, it clips in place of the plip unit and plugs straight in.

 

It worked straight away, range also seems really good, not measured but at least 30m.

 

Not that I use this car every day, but remote lock and unlock does make such a difference.

 

Recommended anyway.

Excellent , 5 of these have sold now so you are not the only one Tom.I'm not sure my pins on my plug are any good as there was corrosion on the plip unit pins and they are very fine. Have you fused the permanent live incase you get a short ?

I wonder if you could replace the remote with one with a NE72 key blade from Aliexpress. They are both 433MHz but the receiver may not be compatible.

 

Anyone has a 206 remote to check if the receiver can learn the signal?

I haven't yet, but it is in my mind of something that would be a good idea. I unplugged and removed the old Plip board years ago after hearing of cars setting on fire when water got into that area. I haven't looked yet, but the wiring must go down the a pillar and emerge near the fuse board, so I will look to fit a fuse down there.
