Comparing results of hub dyno and RR dyno

Hello,

Recently I took my 2.0 Mi16 to a hub dyno session as a very first step before I start its real upgrade. And I do not know how can I compare its results to my previous rolling road sessions of my previous Mi16. Does anybody has an insight? 

Unfortunatelly I got only the "flywheel" figures from the hub, but the operator told me that he added just 1.5% to the measuerd values as "transmisson losses". But in this case the measured hub values seem to be too high for me.

The actual "flywheel" figures are bit down to the original values (after 187000 kms having a Petert's chip / "Peugeot sport" chip and a pipecross air filter) and to the ones of my previous Mi16 having a rebuilt engine.

By the way PeterT's chip became the "winner" in the actual setup because it could achieve more torque almost everywhere (except between 3000 and 4300 rpm).

I am attaching the graphs of hub dyno and the old-school Bosch rolling road dyno.

looks ok, how was the fuelling?

 

the mi16 is sensitive to cam timing and the process to get proper tension whilst maintaining accurate timing is quite involved due to having a front and rear tensioner,  I recall an old 2.0 Mi16 I had some 20 years ago was rolling roaded at under 140 bhp, timing belt was changed and the exhaust, 2 subsequent rolling road runs gave 160 bhp.

I was in a hurry so we did not plugged in the probe to check the AFR. Next time...

I wouldn't even try to compare the old dyno figures. Did you test the two chips on the same day? Even then, they're so close to each other that they could just be testing percentages.

 

I've only ever used my cam with an inlet cam swap and an increase in compression, so I really couldn't comment.

 

Did it feel better to drive though? I know mine has a gradual increase in AFR, rather than maintaining 14.7:1 until WOT, which makes a huge difference in driveability.

Yes, I tested them within 1 hour. There were 2-2 runs. Their characteristics is definitely different (of course we are not talking about huge ones, but imho they are present). Both are better than the original chip for sure. 

I use your chip in my car not only because of the high end power, but because it gives so smooth power delivery at lower revs. 

(I use pipercross air filter just because of the better sound and the crankshaft pulley is an alloy one because the original went wrong, and last but not least I have got a new, "racing" catalysator having metal core. These are the only modfications my car has so far...)
