Servo Pushrod

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to adjust the servo pushrod to fit a 22mm m/c, and I cannot get the domed nut on the end to turn at all. I wanted to check I wasn't being dumb and doing it the wrong way... Do I grab onto the splined section just behind the nut and then turn the nut on the end of the rod? Access is difficult and the splines seem to want to mangle themselves rather than let the nut turn.

Makes it a lot easier or I should probably say makes it actually possible if you can get a helper to push the brake pedal right down so the rod comes out of the servo. Or wedge the pedal down with something. From memory it is as you say, you need to grab the rod with some grips then turn the nut.

I’ve only ever needed to adjust this twice in a lot of 205’s, you don’t need to go much as you soon end up with a long pedal if you aren’t careful.

Thanks, good to know I'm not trying to do something stupid.

When test fitting the m/c I can feel it contact the rod when there's still about 1mm-1.5mm clearance between the m/c and servo mating faces. Then as I tighten the nuts it pulls together but it's obvious that it's pressing the plunger in the cylinder.
