On the few cars that maybe had no AC the ECU will simply act as if the AC was off.

If you have trouble with the 813 ECU you can try to burn the 656 software in a 219 ECU.

Strange , I was under impression that all of them had AC , as 2.0 T engine was mostly in mid range and top range equipped 406's .

 

Guess it was possible to order it in base model trim as well ?! 

There's '96 stamps on the engine , and the wiring loom is 100% 406 type/layout along with that 0261200813 ECU ..

 

Maybe it was taken out from the engine conversion project car or something like that so they changed the engine mounts and ditched the AC .. 

 

Nothing wrong with the 813 ECU (i think so !) .. just do not have the code , will have to get it unlocked .

But will rather wait when i finish and start driving it (on 219 ECU) so i can check if it works ie. if it was unlocked properly .

 

219 ECU might be handy for quick EPROM swap later with modified maps .. but yeah it would be nice if it can be made to run AC as well !

406 2.0t without AC did exist but maybe not where you live.

Cars are often not as loaded with options on their home markets, on top of that cold countries don't care as much about AC.
