davemar 16 Posted August 21 Just putting together my dashboard and got some connectors I'm not sure of. The first is the yellow connector with the two yellow wires that come of of the instrument panel loom. The second is the little brown bulb holder. It's never had a bulb in it, but curious to where it should go. The third is the pair of black spade connectors each on green+yellow wires coming from the loom on the passenger side. drj545 4 Posted August 21 Off the top of my head, I think: - Yellow is for the choke light which the GTIs don’t have. - Bulb holder is for the ashtray light that slots in a hole in the centre console panel. - Those 2 green wires are for the glovebox light? Happy to be proved otherwise!
davemar 16 Posted August 22 They all sound plausible. With the glovebox light, I've got the connectors that should clip to the light lens (got no bulb though), so should there be some sort of switch this connects to? I've had the car a million years, but this has never functioned!
Leslie green 105 Posted September 16 The switch for the glovebox sits underneath the door in a rectangular slot and those 2 green wires go to it although mine has a plug rather than 2 spade connectors . Where exactly does the little bulb for the ashtray plug into as I can't figure it out ?
