Thanks that's what I needed.

Made one from some eyeball measurements for now.

A drillpress, welder and grinder can get you pretty far if you don't have a lathe.

Haven't gotten my hands on the right ecu yet, but I can get a 354 for some reasonable money to get it running now. I'll keep looking for a 158 or 161 though

Did anyone try to use the lambda signal instead of the CO pot on the 354 ECU? It seems to work on the MP3.1, at least at idle.

Thanks for the schematic!

I got pretty close with the thing i made.

Round part on mine's 36mm long instead of 33 and has 20mm diameter. Let's hope I can find some 16mm bar to make it perfect

One more thing that's just crossed my mind, does the polarity matter on the knocksensor? Or is that pretty much irrelevant?

Pin 1 on the sensor connector is pin 11 on the ECU, it probably doesn't matter but there is no harm in doing it rigth.

Perfect I'll keep that in mind when I'll wire it up. Fingers crossed the connectors and stuff arrive in time  for the swap, I hope this is one of those times chinese post is quicker than expected. Also got a 354 in the mail and I think the smart thing would be to upgrade to an emerald ecu in the long term, but I'll have to save up some money for that.

Emerald? Surely you mean Emtron?

Emerald k6, they sell it at pug1off with the adapters to the standard 55pin plug, bit that's really a long term plan.

Oh emtron's an Australian brand. hadn't heard of them before, but they're way out my price range to be absolutely honest

That's very old technology. The fuel modelling in modern ecus is far superior.

That's true, but I can't quite adjustify spending more than a months pay on an ecu.

Small update on the progress.

Everything has arrived just in time for the swap. This evening I'll rip out the old engine and then I have 4 days to get the new one in and get everything working.

Ecu-wise I got my hands on a 354 for now, so no o2 sensor.

Wiring up the ecu connector was less tedious than I thought

Works on a ZX *212 and 605 *214 Mp3.1 ECU's , though haven't yet tried plugging in the WB probe to see what's going on with the mixture from idle to the limiter , cruising and overrun .

Those are a bit more modern and both cat and non cat variants are using the same pin on the ECU, on the ML1.3 pin 43 is only for the CO pot.

Engine is in! I should have it running tomorrow, if everything goes to plan.

Found out that I have to run the loom over the intake otherwise the wires come up a bit to short.

She runs!! Also what polarity is the iac?

I have run the wires but I haven't put the plug on yet because I wasn't sure.

Congrats :)

On the plug pin 2 is +12V and pin 1 (4 on the ECU) is ground.

It took some time, but I've finally gotten it running right. :)

Had some issues with the sensors and maybe the ecu, but it's all fixed now.
