Release bearing orientation be3 box

Recommended Posts

Hi. Does anyone know which way round the release bearing goes on a be3 gear box?  There is a bent lip on one half of the bearing and a flat lip on the other. See pictures. I guess the bent lip locates on the clutch fork to return it out of the way of the pressure plate springs, but looks like it can go either way, top and bottom of the fork.  I’ve looked at the Haynes manual, but it wasn’t helpful. I can’t remember which way it was when I stripped it 5 years ago.

thanks

The one you have there is a BE1 release bearing .. it doesn't fit on BE3 box .

Need an "clip on" BE3 release bearing , Peugeot part No. : 2041 60

Thanks for that. Strangely enough, the one I have is the same design as the one that came off. I wonder if it has always been wrong. I’ll take a look. I’m sure when I ordered the one I have that I put in a be3 box in the search on eBay. I certainly don’t want to put it back together to find out it doesn’t work. Done a full rebuild on the engine and ready to get it all back in, so this is the last thing I need.
