OEM Pug parts 2.2 stroker !?

Recommended Posts

wladimir031

I was soldering my parts from garage and some measuring and thinking..

maybe this is cheapest combo for stroker for road car... lets see

Block: xu10j4rs 86mm

Crank: dw12 96mm (2.2hdi)

Rod: xu10j2 152mm with 22mm small end

Pistons: xu10j4r because also use 22mm press fit pin

measuring: 235 - 152 - 34 - 48 = 1mm

1mm deck to piston clearence for chasing CR from 12 to 11:1 (you choise) ... hmm

with some cuted deeper valve reliefs and decked block by 0.5-1mm you have nice bottom end... with arp rods bolt i think is safe for 7000-7200 rpm

what do you tnink ?

pistons wont work as RFY (S16) use clips and are bushed rods, RFV/RFS are shrink fit non bushed, however if you get aftermarket pistons with larger cutouts they tend to use circlips.

A friend had this piston/rod combo with a 88mm crank on a turbo engine, 260-280hp and no problems.

He had a good aftermarket ECU (for the time) and the map was done by pros so the pistons probably didn't see much knock.
