Gohn

it sounds very difficult tbh

lots of bits missing from diesel loom for the petrol

I went the other way, petrol (SI which is XU5 ,1.6litre monopoint injection) to diesel

it would be hard to do it your way especially if your version of petrol is late

there wouldn't be several of the sensor wires in the diesel engine bay, plus you wont have the ECU part of the loom under the dash

and the different GTI versions changed from early to later models with ECU

also, I thought the STDT binnacle was same as GTi so one of the things you actually wont need to change ?

Thanks for the reply.

Well i am putting a GTI6 lump into my STDT, i will be going aftermarket for management and engine loom. I am just hoping the STDT cabin/dash loom will work with the GTI cluster unit as it has oil pressure and Temp gauges etc.

binnacle will work from what i can tell so not worried about that.
