Which Master Cylinder And Part Number

Recommended Posts

Bally

Hey, a happy and blessed 2004 to everyone, Can anyone tell me the exact peugeot part no. for the 306 master cylinder with four outlets that fits straight into the 205, also do you need the reservoir or can the 205 one fit. Also what is the size, 23.6mm??

Thanks, I need to order a new master cylinder, so I might as well go for the bigger one.

theres a 406 one on ebay i saw yesterday

youll have to use the 205 resivoir as the 406 one dosnt fit

id imagine the 406 v6 has a bigger m/c dont know if it would fit though.

i know its either

4601 f7 or

one is the 306gti-6 mc

and the other is the 406 non abs one

just go to your dealer and ask which is the 406 one

This one is the correct 23,8mm w/o ABS 406 one: 4601 G1

The 4601 J1 is the same but has wrong connections to the brakeservo.

AFAIK the reservoir from the 205 doesn't fit the bigger m/c & the 406 reservoir doesn't sit at the right angle (but is still useable) so the best one to go for is the 306 AFAIK.

Yes, get the one from Bram's conversion story at 205gti.com (see above link), this will fit the M/C fine.

Or get one from a pre '98 Peugeot Partner/Citroen Berlingo this fits as well.

Darn, I already ordered the 406 m/c and the reservoir, when you say it is still usable, explain please. So what is the correct reservoir I need now.

The reservoir from the 406 cannot be used as the M/C in a different angle in the 406.

It can be used, AndyR is using one on his 205, the angle is still OK but getting the reservoir properly filled is harder, the 306 is the better one to use AFAIK.

Maybe RHD 406's sit at a slightly different angle.

Graham.

Seems not the way to do it.....get a proper reservoir from a 306 and you'll be sorted.
