Roof Console/ Map Light Help Required

I am trying to retro fit a roof console/map light to a 1991 1.9 Gti that has had a roll cage for the last 20 years. There appears to be two types and I don't know the difference - see attched pics. Is one Phase 1 and the other Phase 2? Or is one Phase 1.5? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Also, how do they fit to the roof, there doesn't appear to be any screw holes on either?

The lower one has the cut out for the factory sunroof handle.

As Tom says, the top one is for a non-sunroof model and the bottom one for a sunroof.

The screw holes are in the middle behind the tilting map light.

Thanks both, that makes sense. I think on the part I have the plastic where the screw holes are has snapped off, hence my confusion.
