Hutchinson Timing Belts

Recommended Posts

JeffR

In collecting new parts for my major engine failure rebuild, the only timing belt available through local distributors was a Hutchinson brand (134HTDP25). Engine is basically an XU10J4. (XU9J4 head on an iron block).

In the past I've previously used Dayco belts without issue. Even when the waterpump was jammed by a timing pulley bolt the belt didn't fully break. It stripped teeth off the belt but most of the cords held intact.

Am I risking anything if I go with the Hutchinson one?

Thanks

No ! used them few times without any issues ..

Hutchinson is good quality brand for rubber parts .. you'll often find OE PSA oil/air/coolant hoses with "Hutchinson" stamp on the hoses .

It was and still is one of the OE supplier for rubber parts , hoses suspension bushings and mounts mostly from what i've seen .

Thanks both for the feedback.

I've seen plenty of their hoses, my 405 had Hutchinson heater hoses as standard but I've not seen one of their branded cambelts before.

Hopefully they'll stand up to the 8000+rpm punishment.
