XU10 with 88mm crank (thrust washer problem)

Recommended Posts

Hi guys

Not posted for a while but finnaly getting back round to building my 205 up.

I dropped my short engine off to have new pistons/rings and a diesel crank fitted (88mm)

The engine builder has called me to say he has nearly finished the build but doesn't know what thrust washers to fit as the diesel journals are a lot wider and the MI washers have a nib on them.

So just wondered what everyone else has done?

I have searched but can't seem to make heads or tails of the responses as in not to clued up on shimming the crank.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks

Thanks petert. I will go and speak to the builder on Monday as he said standard XU10 ones wouldn't fit so will get some more info on Monday. To find out why they won't fit. From memory did you have to machine any material away?

Andy

I think that the standard Xu10j4 thrusts  will be too thin. In which case , try the XU9D thrusts as the 88mm crank probably came from an Xu9D
