Instrument Cluster Wiring

Recommended Posts

Andy Willis

The current problem i have is that several wires have become old and brittle and broken off at the point they go into the plugs which then connect to the back of the instrument cluster. I would also like to fault find the coolant / oil temp gauges in the instrument cluster.

Could someone send me or point me in the right direction for a wiring diagram for the instrument cluster plugs? The good old Haynes fall very short at this point.

Thanks

This article has the pinouts and wire numbers:

It's unusual for the wires in the cabin to go old and brittle, they are normally more protected than the external wiring in the engine bay etc.

The gauges themselves are usually very reliable. Most commonly any gauge issues lie within the engine bay wiring. In particular the infamous "brown plug".
