Bad starter motor?

Got starter fitted again via extension bars and knuckles..... total PITA and it doesn't help when you're going blind.

 

Dismantled the front end to be able to get into the alternator, and it's seized solid.

 

Looks a common issue on these (Denso) alternators as there's a few on ebay for sale with a crack at the same position, but i've managed to get a refurbished one for £60 delivered which is good, hopefully delivered for the weekend so i can crack on.
