Adjusting Brake Booster?

Recommended Posts

B1ack_Mi16

Is there any form of adjustment on these?

Possible to turn the rod in/out to make it give some more assistance etc.?

I'm very disappointed over the brakes on the T16. 23mm MC, 235mm brake booster diameter etc.

Coupe brembos on it 305mm discs etc.

no, assistance is purely from the vacuum, the adjustment is to take up any free play before the servo starts pushing on the master cylinder.

do you still have the vacuum pump fitted?

No, 2.0 Mi16 / T16 don't use vac pump afaik, only the 306 S16.

But I'm looking into getting a 306 S16 inlet cam now and try to fit the pump to get some more vacum at least. But anyway the brakes are really under-servoed.

Maybe I need to put a 5008 booster there. Is the newer cars boosters twin or triple chamber units since the pedal effort is so small?

I notice the T16 and 5008 boosters both are 255mm actually.

Does the newer cars use some extra pressure boosting utilizing valves in the ABS unit?
