Hi Spec Engine - Best Manifold

Recommended Posts

GilesW

So- I have a forged s16, cams etc on tb's. Expecting about 230ish once mapped (have a longman head for the future to....)

I have the 2.25 maniflow manifold (2 actually), and I'm mating this to a 2.5 stainless 2 box system.

Question -

Is the 2.25 manifold too small?

Should I be considering the maniflow/longman race competition manifold?

People with any thoughts/experience on this sort of level of tuning have any thoughts?

Ta.

Vulture alert, I'm interested in a manifold if you would consider selling one.

i doubt the manifold is 2.25", only the collector, that can easily be changed.

'best' manufold is one made to spec.

I think you match exhaust to the inlet in terms of length, diameter and using pulse tuning to its max. Potential for scavenging.

I have only read enough to uncover the tip of the iceberg which is engine design!

Its not as easy as 'oh that will do because its bigger' by anymeans

Thanks for all the replies people.

From the comments made it seems I'll be looking for a maniflow competition exhaust then.

Expect to see some for sale ads up soon for 2 x 2.2.5" manifolds and a maniflow 2" system.

Tom - I'll message you. Also I'll send you the satchel inlet as I know I've not done what I said I would on that so apologies for that.

welshpug & dcc:

comments noted and totally understood. I know I asked a fairly simplistic question, when I do actually have a bit experience in these things too:

My last track car I spent £35k on and it ran an simpson race manifold and system that they made specifically for me to SBD's defined specs to match my engine and car.

It was a total work of art, and worked well.

I'll stick some photos up at some point (it was a shame to wrap it.....).

This car is a 'budget' build. Hence happy to go with an off-the-shelf solution.

Any more info on your engine - not related to the manifold just genuinely interested as looking to go in a similar direction
