Ran Out Of Petrol - Lumpy Running

Recommended Posts

nveeate

Hi,

I hadn't been out in the 205 for a while ('91 1.9), so took it for a quick run at the weekend, and in my enthusiasm managed to run out of petrol 2-3 miles from home!

Anyway, after putting some petrol in the car was running terribly....barely managed to coax it home. I assume I've just got air in the fuel line, but it didn't clear. Please could someone advise how to fix?

Cheers

Or you've sucked some tank crap into a filter, causing a blockage..?

stick more fuel in.

unlikely you have blocked a filter, fuel pump doesn't move from the bottom of the tank.

Sadly that didnt't work - it now has half a tank of fuel. It'll tick over and rev cleanly to about 2000 rpm (when not under load), but much above this, or if I try to drive anywhere, it splutters and struggles. It was runninh fine before I ran out of petrol. Not sure whether to try some injector cleaner next?
