1.9 8V Big End Torque Setting

Recommended Posts

timoth123

I know the haynes manual goes on to say 40nm, loosen, 20nm then 70 degrees.

But i dont have a dial gauge.

Ivd read on here in a search that 51nm will suffice. Anyone confirm or deny such a thing?

There is that option. But if that can be avoided by having a final torque setting ive saved a few quid and a journey to the tool supplier.

I thought it was the head bolts that use that sort of sequence , my Haynes manual says Big End cap bolts are 50 NM .
