Ahahah it would look ace ! I'm scared of bottoming out on my tyres whenever I get a bit of weight in the back

Update !

I got it started today it turns out the relay was ok I, think it was a dodgy earth or a loose connection to the shunt box.

My oil pressure guage is pissing about now though and my battery light is on so I need to make sure my battery is charging ????

Update !!!

Sooooo I took it to mot it fail on fog light, washers and ..... Rust one the floor ????????

I had a look and the rail that may have been jacked on wrongly in the past by an absolute fool (me, I feel really ebarrassed) had been crushed on the side. I forgot to get a before picture but I the is the 90% complete picture I still need to underseal it which I have now.

The grey hamerite was all I had. The red marks are where I cut and made a repair section. First time I did anything like that and it's not perfect but it's solid.

I also raised up the rear ! Wasn't that hard actually, just used the socket jacking method.

And at the a car show this week I took the best pic I've ever got of it

Don't worry though guys I'm not one of these people that stare at there car all the time I've gone for so many countryside thrashes ! Feels so good to be back in it !!

Oh and yea it is to high at the front guys, I'm buying eibachs when I can budget it.

Also on my drives the car is very bouncy especially at the back (I think) is this shocks? Is it worth getting some decent billies over something of mister auto ?

That's it for now :)

ARGGHHHH JUST WROTE THE WHOLE THING UP AND CLICKED FULL VERSION AND LOST IT ALL :( ... start again

So I have been doing loads of little bit over the last 6 months but never had anything substantial enough to warrant a project update so I've saved some bits up ready for an update. Some things I've done and not took pictures of are...

Fitted eibach springs

Fitted xsara b4 rear dampers

Fixed an intermediate starting issue where the car wouldn't turn over

Drilled out a snapped bonnet hinge bolt (bonnet still needs realigning really)

Next I wanted to sort the running issue. It wasn't idleing right and it had another starting issue where when the engine was hot it wouldn't fire. Someone told me the problem which was a coolant temp sensor so I bought a genuine Bosch one which has worked wonders and it's no long over fueling all the time so hopefully should see better mpg as well.

While poking around I found the ht leads were a bit corroded so I bought a new set of prospark leads. It took me a while to find the right leads because the 1991 1.6s had the same lead design as the 1.9s. This has made it run a lot nicer as well.

Next a bought a new oil breather hose of miles's eBay store as mine was hard and brittle. This was dead easy and is no longer seeping oil.

A few weeks go I finally sorted out a proper gas bottle and reg for my tig welder. So I can now reliably learn to weld. I needed a trolley so I cut up an old, broken mig welder and slotted my tig on which as luck would have it fits perfectly !

IMG_2512.jpg

First job was to repair my throttle pedal which I have never seen anyone do before. So bit of weld..

And the finished product

That's about it really. In march I'm gonna tackle the boot floor and underside. I'll have to get it done as I have booked the sprint event in April. Here's a few more random photos...

So I finally got round to tackling the boot floor, it's not the best job ever but it's the best I could do with a faulty mig welder that's older then me (not just blaming tools I suck at welding as well)

I initially tried to tig weld some bits but then realised why no one ever tig welds car bodies aha

So here's some pictures..

Obviously I kept welding at this point, I just don't have picture of it fully welded.
