Keeping Speeding Points Of My Licence

Mac Crash

Malc > my instinct told me it wasn't a bike... when you break it down like that then doesn't seem quite so mad, the run in from Thurso is fairly straightforward with the exception of the Berriedale braes which never fail to impress/excite, mental note made of your time from the city to Fort William  (37) :D

My personal favourite down your way is the Stockiemuir Road A809... no need for times, I know you know it :D

I'm pretty jaded to the A809 and just bypass it altogether, it's too risky due to general traffic and cyclists on top of the bikers and sports cars cutting sketchy corners coming the opposite way. I took the 205 for a calm drive round there recently before my beam was switched and had a guy in a stupid Corsa tailing me, I held steady at 40-50mph just to piss him off, came round a blind corner and coming the other way was a 4x4 overtaking a cyclist....had it been in the past I would've rallied round there at much higher speed with little to know time to react to the hazard. It's exactly why I don't bother with that road anymore.

Better to shoot for Aberfoyle and Dukes pass though I did have a near miss with a massive deer that looked like it was on steriods on the latter A821 section around Loch Vanacher.

Doesn't seem quite so mad?! It's still an AVERAGE of 100mph or thereabouts no matter how you break it down. That's just mental! That means a considerable amount of time spent well over the ton to make up for the slow parts. f***in balls of steel! Not that I'm condoning such behaviour of course ;-)

GL, Malcs got a screw loose.

Great driver though, and his car is as fast as feck, and handles like feck.

A lethal combo!

Great fun to sit aside though, if you dare open your eyes

1hr 49mins for the Thurso to Fort William run is mental!!

Best (or worst) I've ever done driving between Inverness and Fort William is 45mins. That was Raigmore hosp to Belford hosp with a police escort from the traffic cops in the wee hours. Never ever want to have to be doing that again. On the limiter on the Loch Lochy straights and well over the ton in other places. Only time I've regretting stretching the legs of a 205 as the oil was getting rather hot and I was terrified of hitting a deer.
